*Since changed to a green-based nebula background ... it's all good now.*

Something I'm using a photo reference for, but it's ... boring The colors are dull and I have no idea how to make the background complement the figure. I can draw accurately but I sure as hell can't be creative with painterly strokes and colors.
Help.
*edit* I think I'll make two versions ... one with realistic colors and rendering to satisfy my needs, and another with more freedom ... if I can just let go.

This is awesome ^^ If you want the figure to pop out more I'd suggest changing the background from blue to green.
The green and red will pop out more compared to red-blue in my opinion.
Not really sure which program you're using but there should be a layer colour change option or something like that to make it easy!
